The Scent of Home in a Single Muffin – Quick Chocolate Muffins Made with Ingredients You Already Have

  • Feb 17
  • 2 min read

There are days when we don’t need a big cake or a complicated dessert.

We need something simple. Warm. Comforting. Chocolate muffins are exactly that — small treats that carry the scent of home, Sunday afternoons, and a kitchen filled with steam and sweetness. This recipe is simple, without complications or special ingredients to search for. You probably already have everything you need in your kitchen.

Ingredients (Makes 12 muffins)

  • 1 egg

  • 150 g sugar

  • 1 packet vanilla sugar (or 1 tsp vanilla extract)

  • 1 packet baking powder

  • 250 ml milk

  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

  • 100 ml oil

  • 250 g flour

  • 100 g finely chopped chocolate

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine the egg, sugar, vanilla sugar, and oil. Mix until the mixture becomes light and slightly foamy. Gradually add the milk, then the flour mixed with baking powder and cocoa powder. Gently combine everything without overmixing.             Pour the batter into muffin cups, filling each halfway (as they will rise during baking).          Sprinkle with finely chopped chocolate.                                                                                             Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for about 20 minutes.                                                   Serve while still warm — that’s when they are at their softest and most fragrant.

A Small Tip from the CO. Kitchen

If you want a richer flavor, add pieces of dark chocolate directly into the batter or a pinch of cinnamon for a deeper aroma.
